PROJECT

Are we really aware of the importance of the rabbit in the Iberian Peninsula?

Spanish and Portuguese entities are currently running the LIFE Iberconejo LIFE Iberconejo project whose aim is to establish a system for managing rabbit populations in the Iberian Peninsula.

This project was set up to channel the willingness of various parties to work together towards a common aim of improving the state of rabbit populations in the Iberian Peninsula and, at the same time, reduce and even prevent the damage rabbits cause to agriculture.

Co-financed by the European Commission’s LIFE programme, LIFE Iberconejo will guarantee an investment of €2,103,880 and will run for 39 months from October 2021 to December 2024.
